Love Stories:
Missouri + Ford

When you have love on your side, you can venture boldly into uncharted territory. That’s what Ford is learning as it grows its assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri, where the auto builder makes the E-Transit, America’s best-selling electric van. In 2022, Ford invested $95 million into the Kansas City Assembly Plant and added 1,100 new jobs to build its capacity to rapidly act on cutting-edge EV technology.

The investment is already paying off. The U.S. Postal Service announced in 2023 that it will buy 9,250 Ford E-Transit Battery Electric Vehicles in its first step to electrify its entire fleet. The new vehicles will include features that postal delivery workers are sure to love — including, for the first time ever, air conditioning.

Ford has loved building cars in Missouri for 70 years. By choosing the Show-Me State for its cutting edge EV innovation, Ford is taking the relationship to the next level. The results will be fewer emissions and a more sustainable future for everyone.
